Bilgola Beach and my thoughts on blogging
I am back!! I've missed this place! The internet has finally been installed in my new flat.. this morning was like Christmas all over again. How do people function without it these days?! It's a sad realisation I have to say, but so much revolves around it especially when you've just moved to a foreign country, in a city you know nothing about & you want to google things literally every 2 seconds but you CAN'T!
I just couldn't wait to share more photos & tell you all about it. I still can't really wrap my head around everything that has happened so far... I moved to the other side of the planet, it's suddenly summer & very hot, I moved into a new flat, I assisted an amazing fashion stylist called Elle Packham on the cover shoot of the new issue of Catalogue magazine over the weekend (If you follow me on Instagram you already had a little sneak peek..!), I can go to the beach in the morning, the afternoon, at night if I want to! It's seriously crazy!!
These photos were taken last week when I joined Soph & her family on a morning excursion to Bilgola beach - croissant & coffee (tea for me) included. I was told there are more than 150 beaches around Sydney...can you believe it?? I thought my list of must-go-to restaurants in London was big, well my Sydney list of must-go-to beaches + sites + restaurants is literally never ending. I just love how most beaches around here have 'ocean pools' which I read were mostly built to protect you from rough currents & sharks....... so that's where I'll be swimming most of the time then! (mum, I mean ALL the time)
As a side note.. I just want to point out that it's not all that glamourous though, I'm still sleeping on a blow up bed (waiting for my bed to be delivered..), I'm still looking for a paid job, I've been eating a lot of things on toast by laziness (I almost forgot what it's like to be fully 'responsible' again after living at home for the past 3 months...)
Blogging is a funny thing you know.. I personally choose to keep things bright & positive around here, because that's how I try to live my life & I want JFJ to reflect that & push me to keep on appreciating & seeing all the little things in life that make me happy, but it's not all rainbows & butterflies all the time..! Like everyone else's life right? I don't know why I'm suddenly getting all serious, but I feel the need to point it out because it's just so easy to start comparing your life to a bunch of photographs someone has curated & edited to look visually appealing, that's only 10% of real life, the rest most bloggers keep for themselves, myself included. Of course you know this already, but it's always good to remind ourselves, because this is also a personal reminder.
