Arty 01 | Saatchi Gallery
This is something you might not know about me but I love art, obviously you might have guessed that I REALLY enjoy photography... but I just love art in all it's different shapes. I grew up in a family of artists, my mum is a mosaist, two of my aunts are painters, my uncle owns an art gallery, we have many artist friends. I grew up right in the middle of it... paintings everywhere, studios & paint brushes, many art galleries & museums visits. No wonder I love it so much.
Recently I have been thinking a lot about what I'd like my future home to look like. If you follow my Pinterest you'll know that I actually have two boards dedicated to my dream home & one to all things Interior Design..obsessed much? On top of that I obviously have a board dedicated to all things Art.
Having just moved into a new flat I've been wanting to make my room feel a little bit more homey & me, at the moment it's 4 white walls & not much else. Because this is not permanent & I will eventually move after my Australia Adventure, I simply can't go crazy on furniture shopping, but I could possibly buy a couple of small prints to make things pretty!
On my ongoing search for beautiful art I discovered that my all time favourite gallery in London (the Saatchi Gallery) actually sells prints online. Which basically means you can browse an art gallery from your couch.. the first time I went on there I scrolled for HOURS, they have literally thousands of different prints from thousands of different artists. It's a bit like Asos for Art... I picked a few of my favourites.. is it kind of obvious that Australia has given me the beach bug??
As you can see my taste in Art is a bit like my taste in music. I like a lot of different genres. I can't stick to one type or one artist or one technique... maybe that's the indecisive side of me speaking but why stick to one thing? I know if I like it from the first 5 seconds I see it though (like many other things) It has to speak to me in some way, or evoke some sort of feeling in me.
These 4 picks were taken from my Pinterest 'Art' board, I love discovering new artist on there! I really want that marinière print, or how about that beautiful owl drawing..?! I really need to invest in some paint & brushes of my own, because all of this is making me want to put my arty hat on.
