The Grounds of Alexandria aka heaven. It's not a conventional market, it is set in the most beautiful little courtyard with fountains & roses everywhere, it only has a few stands & at the back you can find their cafe which I've heard is really good (we didn't have time to try it..but I'll be back!). On the grounds you can find a pig, a sheep & chickens.. which apparently are true celebrities around Sydney. (I'm actually not joking)
One stand, which was probably one of the highlights of this place, is owned by the most fantastic bee keeper who comes along with his bees... I mean COOLEST thing ever or what?! You can watch them do their bee thing in a see-through hive!
Last saturday will be remembered as the day I ate the most delicious doughnut of my life. I'm planning on going there again this weekend just to experience the heavenly taste of that warm Nutella & cinnamon bundle of joy, all over again. I am in no way exaggerating. If you are in Sydney.. I urge you to go - grab a glass of rose lemonade while you're at it. I obviously don't have a proper picture to show you.. when something this good is handed to you, you waste no time. Not a second. Maybe I'll try & be more patient on my next trip there & show you... I said maybe. (you can actually see a glimpse of them on that last photo, all blurred in the background..it does not do them justice. that's a fact)
Editor's Note : After writing this I was reminded by Soph who just wrote a post about our weekend market adventure that the market's pig & sheep are called....wait for it.... Kevin Bacon & Bradley... (I seriously can't stop laughing about it)
Oh and one more thing.. YOU CAN SEE THE HOLY DOUGHNUTS IN SOPH'S POST!!!
