2014

Happy New Year to all of you! It has taken me a while to sit down & take the time to reflect on this past year. I wanted to truly take the time to go back through my memories, put down the good & the bad that happened over the year. I wanted to lay it all down in front of me, think about it, learn a lesson or two on what didn't go so well & truly appreciate & be grateful for what did go right.

Time flies at a scary speed. 2013 was there a second ago & now it's gone. I personally think it is important to take the time to reflect on the year that has just gone by, because you just wait & see but I have a feeling 2014 will be gone in a flash. I don't want to miss out & forget, I want to remember it all. This is why I am so grateful for this blog of mine, for allowing me to put those memories down. I am also so grateful for all of you, thank you so much for reading & taking the time to comment, tweet, email me... I read it all & I wish I could just hug every single one of you.

In 2013 I decided to change my life, I wasn't fully happy where I was, or with what I was doing, I took a risk, quit my job, I pushed my limits & bought a single ticket to Sydney. 2013 brought amazing people in my life, people that truly make me a better person. At the end of the year I've really put a lot of importance on being happy & positive. I believe it is a personal choice to wake up in a great mood, ready to do good in the world, to surround yourself with positivity & get rid of the mean, the dark & the negative. The choice is yours.

2014 is off to a great start, I am preparing myself to change my life completely & start a great new chapter by moving to Australia for a year (in 20 days!!!) All I know is that it will be the adventure of my life, I am scared, I worry don't get me wrong, but the excitement is such that all of the worrying just disappears in seconds.

Last night I had a long candle lit bubble bath (they always make me think a lot) then I sat down & wrote my new year's resolutions. I didn't write things like floss every day, eat this or drink that every morning or do 200 push ups a day - things that will most definitely be thrown out of the window in a matter of days. Instead I wrote down my goals & dreams for this new year. Some sort of guidelines to motivate me to make this year my best year yet.

My dreams & goals of 2014 go along the lines of simplifying, living on less, getting in touch & staying in touch, work hard & play hard, travel, explore, learn & master a new skill, practice kindness, follow my dreams, reach high, focus on the positive, practice yoga & be healthy...

I like to have them written down in my diary, so I can go back on them during the year & re-adjust in case I've lost my way....because I will! It's not about being perfect, its about working hard to be the best version of yourself.
