Blogger Meetup at the Phene

One evening last week I got to hang out with some pretty fantastic ladies. It's in moments like these that I realise how lucky I am to be part of this blogging community. It has opened a whole new world to me, and a whole new bunch of amazing people.

I think it is rare to meet up with complete strangers for an evening and just 'click' with them. Actually let me rephrase this, I think it is rare to meet up with complete strangers for an evening - full stop. Now you add in blogs into the equation, and you're in for an inspiring evening. The chats were endless and yes a lot was about blogging and photography,  yes there was a lot of picture taking and Instagraming, but that just makes the whole thing a million times better because you don't feel like the weird one snapping away at her smoked salmon bagel.

Blogging is a wonderful thing, a powerful platform for creativity and entrepreneurship but unfortunately a lot of people don't particularly 'get it'. But when you do find people who understand your passions and your dreams without thinking they are even remotely strange, you hold on to them, you hold on tight.

Last week I met up with strangers, but by the end of the night I made some new friends and that's something I will treasure for ever.

Ps: Check out Rosie's lovely post (with far better pictures!!), Che's hilarious drawings, Michelle's tips for blogger meetups | A huge thanks to Bobbi and Lulu for organising this dinner! | The rest of the dinner crew: FreyaXandraLou, Becca, Helen, Amy, Siobhan (make sure you check their great blogs!)
