Where I come from in the south of France (south of Toulouse in the Ariege region) we live very close to the mountains (Pyrenees) and we're surrounded by beautiful medieval towns. Seriously, there's one at every corner, with beautiful churches, town squares, castles.. they're everywhere. One of them being Mirepoix!

One of my best friends when I was 14 lived near Mirepoix, so we spent a lot of time around the square sitting at cafes, pretending we were classy French girls, but really we just loved spending most of out time on our horses getting muddy.

This past trip we took the whole family to eat at this lovely new restaurant (and hotel) called Le relais de Mirepoix for my aunt's birthday. If you ever consider visiting the region, I would definitely recommend checking out Mirepoix, it's such a beautiful town.

We cheered and laughed at our dads' terrible jokes for a couple of hours. The rosé was necessary ;)

The food was delicious and the restaurant was very accommodating at making something vegan for me and Michael (our main dish is on the left, it was both beautiful and delicious)

After lunch we wondered around the town square, taking photos and digesting our large lunch, before we all jumped back in our cars and drove all the way to the sea side.. where we didn't end up seeing the sea at all - but that's another story for another blog post...!!

I know I've shared this dress a few times over on Instagram, but it seriously is such a dream! A classic, well cut, beautifully made dress that will last me through the years. I wore it all summer.
