Zero Waste Period

  1. I think menstrual cups are a good idea, both environmentally and financially haha, so I bought a DivaCup from the drugstore on a whim and worked up the courage to try it. It was kinda a freaky and I wasn’t used to putting it in or taking it out — the taking out part was especially stressful that first time. I haven’t tried it again since, but I think I will give it another shot eventually, but not anytime soon! I still like the idea of them, so I want to give them a chance, and I know that there’s a learning curve, so there’s still hope for me! -Audrey | http://brunchataudreys.com

  2. Nina says:

I started using a cup 2-3 years ago and never looked back: less waste and less worrying about my period!

  3. Sarah says:

Just bought this thanks to your recommendation! I’ve wanted to transition to a cup for this entire year but kept putting it off. Thanks for your post finally pushing me to buy one!

  4. Em says:

I’ve still got about a year supply of tampons left, afterwards I’m planning to switch!

  5. Michelle says:

Changing it in the shower might be the best idea ever. Glad I made the shift this year. Not only is it better for environment I just love the convenience of it and not having to secretly take a tampon to the bathroom when you’re at a restaurant or at work.

  6. Natasha says:

I’ve used a MoonCup for about 2 and a half years and it honestly was a great decision. I never really liked using pads or tampons so I thought I’d give it a go and now I can’t imagine not using it. I have to admit it was tricky at first but it’s just so much easier, cleaner and more natural.

  7. Linda V. says:

For you & anyone else wanting a cup that’s decent – I use the OrganiCup (Its the first one I ever heard about) and have used it for more than three years now- it’s perfect & I couldnt live without it. Meluna also has some good reviews but I never tried it myself

  8. Lou says:

I would like to make this change in 2019 : ) Will think about it for another day or two – my biggest concern is trying it out for the first time whilst being in the office!

  9. Cara says:

Yes! I agree completely with all your reasons to choose a menstrual cup and like you I have found it fantastic and have never looked back since the past year or so when I changed to a cup

  10. Eva says:

I have been using a mooncup for 8 years now and never looked back. I donated the rest of my unused tampons to a charity. I feel so much cleaner! The only thing is that I still have minor leaks on my strong days (no more than with a tampon) so I have been using a few panty liners. I am planning to buy a reusable alternative though – washable liners or the modibodi/shethinx underwear. Any tips?

It’s that time of the year again when all that matters is CHOCOLATE and HOT CROSS BUNS!!! Now if you can combine the two… then you have a winning combo in my opinion. I can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year since I last made and shared these (they were in a collab with […]
