What a lovely post -I have to agree that Aesop and The Ordinary really make the best products – every Aesop product smells absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to take some of these tips and try them out!

      Hi Frankie!

Thanks a lot, so happy you liked it 🙂 they are definitely amazing aren’t they! but after I posted I realised Aesop could be a little more ‘natural’ see Emma’s comment above!
So I added two new suggestions to both the cleanser and the serum, as different cleaner options I actually use too!

      Have a lovely day

I loved reading this Tania! I’ve also been using natural beauty products, from around about the same time I went vegetarian.
The balm you mentioned sounds lovely. My personal ‘magic balm’ is the Green Balm from MOA. I’m also obsessed with Fat & the Moon’s All Cream. Would really recommend both to you!
Do you ever use the app ‘Think Dirty’? You input a product & it rates it based on how ‘dirty’ it is, offering alternative suggestions for ‘dirty’ products. I was really surprised to find some Aesop products have really high ‘dirty’ ratings on the app. There are hidden chemicals in some of them. Would really recommend looking into it, although if you’re anything like me you’ll lose hours on it!

      Hey lovely!

Thank you so much, so happy you enjoyed it 🙂

It’s so interesting how we make the connection as soon as we become aware of our diet isn’t it?!
Oh I’ve heard lots about the MOA balm, I actually almost put it down as an option but it wasn’t as similar as the one I have so I found something closer, but I will try it when I run out!

Oh I’ve heard of the Think Dirty app, and have just downloaded it! I actually remember having a conversation with Freya about this and her discovering that Aesop is actually not super ‘clean’ but is not that bad.. just could do better! and you’re right! Cheeky of them.. After you said that I’ve actually added two suggestions of different cleanser/serum that I use and also love (and are considered ‘clean’) ! (I just happened to have run out of both!)

      Have a lovely day!

  3. Speaking of the Think Dirty app, I also learned about the Good On You app, which I learned about via Michelle x Daisy Butter. The app provides information about brands like about human labour, environment, and animal sustainability. // I’ve never heard of oil cleanses before! It’s a very intriguing process. My current skincare routine is pretty minimal and I’m not yet looking to change it, but I’ll keep this in mind! It seems like a customised sheet mask, and more sustainable at that, as you’re reusing your cotton face cloth 🙂 -Audrey | http://brunchataudreys.com

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been curious about The Ordinary and Aesop products but was slightly overwhelmed trying to figure out what was what. Like you I’ve really cut back on over-using products and simplifying everything. I’ve tried the oil-cleansing method but had to stop due to brutally hot summers where I live. // Question – you used to have a picture of a bronzer that you used, it was in a curved white compact (I can’t find it now), do you remember the name and do you still use it?

It’s that time of the year again when all that matters is CHOCOLATE and HOT CROSS BUNS!!! Now if you can combine the two… then you have a winning combo in my opinion. I can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year since I last made and shared these (they were in a collab with […]
