French Markets

  1. Audrey Lin says:

Your dad sounds like quite the people person! I’m always so fascinated by markets. It’s cool to be in the middle of all the hustle and bustle but still have no one notice you ๐Ÿ™‚ Optimal conditions for people watching ๐Ÿ˜› This weekend is almost over, but tomorrow I’m going to a cafe for waffles with my dad and youngest brother! -Audrey | http://brunchataudreys.blogspot.com

    • Tania Joy says:

haha doesn’t he?! People watching is one of my favourite past times! I hope the waffles were delicious! xx

  2. Camille says:

This seems so charming. We have farmer’s markets here but they’ve unfortunately become much more commercialized.

Absolutely adore these photos! Saturday French market mornings sound so fun. Looking at fresh fruit and vegetables is always so summery. Yes the hayfever does suck though!

I love this post! Beautiful photos and it sounds like such a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. I wish there was more of a market culture in the UK. I know there are a few but people still buy most of their produce in supermarkets. Not the same!

    • Tania Joy says:

Thanks Polly!! I guess I don’t really feel a huge difference living in London because there are loads of markets around, but you’re right.. they’re not in evey little town around the UK like they would be in France. It won’t take long though I’m sure! xx

  5. Polly says:

Looks so so so gorgeous! Brilliant photos! My parents took me to France so many times when I was a child, I haven’t been for about 7 years though… will have to go back soon and do some market-going! x

Sounds and looks so yummy! That cod looks delish… and the mousse! I will have to put No.11 Pimlico Road on my list of places to visit in London ๐Ÿ™‚ x

  6. Megan Denton says:

This is so absolutely French and wonderful. It’s the best approach to food, to take it slowly and enjoy every part of it. You guys know what you’re doing!

    • Tania Joy says:

I think so too ๐Ÿ˜‰ although I’ve got to say I’m so happy to see farmers market in most big cities around the world now! xx

  7. Rosie McKay says:

I love market shopping. It always reminds me of weekends spent at my grandparents!

oh you will for SURE! Big cities like Bordeaux and Marseille will even have several markets on show.. you will have the best time! xx ps: buy saucisson ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Tess says:

Tania, your photos are absolutely stunning! I love Saturday market rituals- here in Ohio, there’s one I love going to every week where they sell the most delicious Belgian waffles- I would always get them with my brother, and then pick up fresh fruits and veg for dinner.

    xx Tess

  10. Lucy Porter says:

What a lovely portrait of a Saturday tradition ๐Ÿ™‚ we have a market a little like this at the end of our street here in Milan on Saturday mornings although it doesn’t have quite as much of a community feel. Nevertheless, the market vendors never fail to put a smile on my face and are always happy to let us have a taste before we buy – paradise! xxx

It’s that time of the year again when all that matters is CHOCOLATE and HOT CROSS BUNS!!! Now if you can combine the two… then you have a winning combo in my opinion. I can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year since I last made and shared these (they were in a collab with […]
