Bilgola Beach and my thoughts on blogging

  1. Lulu Johnson says:

Gorgeous pictures as always! T don’t underestimate the massive emotional changes involved in moving country!! I think when you have studied away from home you think it will be simple to relocate and settle in a new place. I was doubtful when a friend told me soon after I had moved to London that I would feel truly settled in a year. A year later the realisation struck me that I felt completely different than I had the year before! He was right, I felt settled, but I had thought that after boarding school and university away from home it would be simple! Be gentle on yourself and good luck with getting sorted in your new life! Lots of love x x x

    • Tania Joy says:

Oh Lulu!!! Thank you so much! Ha it’s a big whirlwind of emotions isn’t it?? great reminder as always you have the perfect advice πŸ™‚ I hope everything is going well for you back in London town!! tons of love xxx

  2. Rosie Reynolds says:

YAY! New photos! I’ve been hanging out waiting on these, and you know it! πŸ˜‰ They’re gorgeous! You’re right, about saving something back and only sharing a curated 10%. I’ve been trying hard to strike the right balance between living life and appreciating it for what it is and living in the moment, and then also taking myself out of the moment by stopping to style and photograph and curate things so they look just right. It’s so hard. Can’t wait to catch up with you again soon love. Hope you’re having a lovely week! xxx

    • Tania Joy says:

hahaha oh darling Rosie! It’s a hard balance isn’t it? i don’t think I’ve found it yet.. it takes time! LOVED our catch up, yes more face times soon xxxxxxx

  3. Liv says:

Hey Tania, I totally know how you feel. I moved to Paris at 18 and couldn’t speak a word of French and as much as I was so excited and adored the city it was really very hard and there were alot of tears as I struggled to find my way. I’m really glad you are enjoying Sydney, it’s honestly such an amazing place to live and you’ll settle in soon! Bilgola is one of my all time favourite beaches (you should walk up to the lighthouse near the Boathouse at Palm Beach next time you go). Stay strong, things will work out and you are lucky you have Soph to fall back on. I live in Sydney too so let me know if you ever need a helping hand I’d be happy to help. xx Liv

  5. Lou says:

Good luck with settling in to your new environment πŸ™‚ The biggest move I ever did was straight out of uni, from the UK to Paris. It’s a big deal and I wasn’t really in to the blogging scene when I moved, so there were definitely times that I felt confused, alone and anxious that things would never get better – but they do!!!!!!!! It sounds like you’re very realistic about your move and this whole Australia experience is an important time in your life – be sure to enjoy every minute, and just grit your teeth when things get a little bumpy. I love the beautiful photos and am excited to follow this new phase in your life! Lou xx

    • Tania Joy says:

Oh Lou! This is perfect. I really needed to read this. Thank you so much! Things are slowly picking up, it’s part of the adventure anyway! I have a feeling it’s going to a be a life changing experience for sure πŸ™‚ xx

  6. Grace says:

  8. Milly says:

This looks absolutely glorious and I have all my fingers & toes crossed that I will be joining you out there come September/October! Glad to hear you’re settling in nicely, even if you are still on a blow up bed. Nice to see you back online, and whilst I am very aware I’m also very appreciative of your little side note about blogging. Looking forward to lots more updates on your adventures – and in the mean time good luck and best wishes for the continuation of your settling in period! Milly (@mlle_milly on twitter) x

    • Tania Joy says:

Oh well I’ll cross mine too! It’s such a wonderful place! Ha one more day on the blow up bed! thank you for your kind words Milly! good luck to you too, and just ask away if you have any questions about my move! I’ll continue my Sydney Adventure guide, so hopefully that will help you a little! x

  9. So so true that thing on blogging. It’s a trap you know, it’s the same attitude with celebrities’ lives. The fact that you see 4-5 amazing pictures in somewhere-tropical-with-him/her-almost-frighting-smiley, doesn’t mean that they have the perfect life or at least a life that you should be envy and jealous of. anyway

    • Tania Joy says:

My thoughts exactly!! It’s the same process, but we’re only human so comparing is only a normal reaction. but I wish we stopped comparing and looked around us a little more to see all the beautiful things around us, and be grateful for them! Perfect doesn’t exist! x

  10. Ibbs Quinton says:

So happy to have you back round here, your stunning photos always bring a smile to my face. And yes, it’s very good to give ourselves a reality check on life vs blogging. I like my blog to be a happy place too instead of boring people with the trials and tribulations of daily life
    x x x

    • Tania Joy says:

Oh thank you darling! I’m so glad they do, that’s the whole point πŸ™‚ It’s good to keep things positive but it’s also good to tone things down for a second isn’t it? – reality check exactly! x

  11. Saskia says:

    Gorgeous photos!

It’s difficult moving to a completely new country, especially across the world. Keep your head up!

  12. Lisa Pappalardo says:

Welcome back! I think it’s so awesome that you get to meet up with Sophie! You two became such good friends and now you’re around each other all the time!

    • Tania Joy says:

Thanks Lisa!! Oh I know Soph has been such a life saver since I’ve arrived, her family have literally adopted me! Also now I can be a helpful bridesmaid πŸ˜€

  13. Abby says:

Enjoy the adventure! We moved to Guam from the US for 3 years, I would do it again in a heartbeat! It wasn’t always easy, but it’s one of my favorite times of my life.

It’s that time of the year again when all that matters is CHOCOLATE and HOT CROSS BUNS!!! Now if you can combine the two… then you have a winning combo in my opinion. I can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year since I last made and shared these (they were in a collab with […]
